The smallest country on the African continent is one of the more sought after vacation destinations in the region too. The Kingdom of Swaziland has much to offer travellers and boasts world-class landmarks, moderate weather and famous hospitality; gaming addicts love Swaziland as it is home to Piggs Peak Casino, which does not fail to provide the desired adrenaline rush. Swaziland is in close proximity to South Africa, Botswana, and Mozambique, opening up further tourist attractions to visitors.
In 2006 the ministry of Tourism in Swaziland launched the 'Route of Lubombo' - an integration of roads and circuits that lead through some of the most picturesque and scenic spectacles on show in South East Africa. With a distinctly African ambience, Lubombo has easy access to different coastal areas as well as Big 5 game farms in the region, promising visitors a unique holiday that they won't soon forget.
Mabuda Farm - or "Place of Dreams" as it is affectionately known - is a stunning and romantic farm in the majestic Lubombo Mountains. It is the ideal residence for a special weekend getaway and is a perfect stop over point between the Mozambican border and the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Mabuda is in close proximity to the amenities of Lubombo, including shops and entertainment facilities, while The Good Shepherd Hospital is within walking.
Accommodation at Mabuda Farm consists of:
Accommodation at Mabuda Farm consists of warm-thatched rondavels and chalets providing either self-catering or bed and breakfast options for 27 people in 7 different units. The traditional 1930s styled thatched cottages have a unique and authentic period decor, while the recently built chalets are more modern and can accommodate up to 4 people at a time.
Mabuda Farm has also recently completed its renovations and now offers facilities for backpackers, with 2 thatched units and 3 camping sites able to accommodate up to 12 backpackers. Each of these units has its own water and electricity supply. A wonderfully large pool is majestically positioned in the garden of the historic Mabuda House and provides a chance for guests to soak up the glorious African sun, while getting in good relaxation time. There is also a Boma, which can be used for barbequing and entertainment.
Because Mabuda Farm is set amongst such breathtaking and natural beauty, visitors are encouraged to get back to nature by going on walks through the area and take in the exceptional bird viewing that is on offer. Other local activities to enjoy include a cultural village and game reserves, all within 20 km of Mabuda Farm.
